Mr. Kwek Sum Chuan, our founder, started this fruit supplying business in 1968. Over a period of forty years, we became one of the leading and fast expanding fruits importer, exporter and distributor in the local and global industry.
Our first wholesale business started at Mohammed Sultan and Teck Guan Street. We pioneered direct importing of fresh produce from the United States and Australia. Next, we exported fruits directly to Brunei and East Malaysia. After ten years in the business, we started supplying to supermarket chains like NTUC and Cold Storage. Our export business has further expanded to other markets like West Malaysia and Indonesia.
We hold the record of being the first trader to penetrate into Vietnam market.
In the1990s, we initiated a joint venture partnership with sixteen wholesalers and QAF Limited to build cold storage facilities at Pandan Loop. During this time, we also set up a supermarket chain company, named YES and a freight forwarding and logistics company named AGI Freight Singapore Pte Ltd. Our corporate clients include IRAS and ship chandlers. In addition, we also ventured into the production of raw materials for the making of silk in China.
In 2006, we moved to a new 60,000 square feet facility at 265 Pandan Loop. It houses a 1,000 ton chiller room, a warehouse, an ante room facility and offices.
In September 2008, we attained our ISO certification and this has made us highly confident of providing quality and value-added products and services to all our customers.
